Review of Work In this production there were many constraints and setbacks that we had, through time management, the availability of interviews, financial and legal limitations, also reaching all the requirements of the client, and being able to communicate well with the whole class, and to all agree on one basis. Upon the feedback we received from our client, implementing the feedback to suit the needs of our client. The first major setback being time management, due to us having to create this production, during the exam season of other students, including our selves, finding time to do interviews with students, staff, etc was quite difficult, having exams our selves also meant that we were focusing on revision for our exam subjects, and thus allocating time for this production proved to be difficult. Although the pre production work was finished, the filming took a while to get started and after exams had finished many students were not attending the school. Thus the 6...

This week we filmed all the footage that we required, we uploaded all the footage that we needed onto the editing timeline, and with the feedback that we received we edited our footage, and we all took turns in editing in the class, the project will be complete this week, and afterwards we will do the evaluation, and other written work to finish this unit, the editing can take a long time, and we will have to do it according to our clients wants and needs, such as making the voice overs, in places where he wants them to be, and adjusting the order of some of the footage that we filmed.

This week, after some more filming and editing, we asked our client to watch our rough draft of our rough draft, and asked him to give feedback on how we could improve it, he gave us valuable feedback that we would implement into our production, as we seek to create a production that suits the needs and wants of the client. The overall feedback was good, and we only needed to add or tweak small things. The production is nearly complete and we only have to film a few more interviews and the left over classes, that we had not filmed, due to the timing of this productions, some students have finished their exams and thus some classes are not going on at the moment. However we have asked the teachers, to arrange small classes that we could then film.

This week we finished most of our filming, whilst a part of the group split up and filmed different areas in order to cover more footage, the other half filmed the 6th form in order to be more productive and capture as much footage as possible, conducting interviews with students did prove to be difficult as mostly younger years are shy to be in front of camera, and interviewing staff, the teachers can be busy teaching or preparing lessons, and thus the interviews are not up to speed with the rest of the footage that we have filmed, however we then thought to film all the classrooms and the daily activities that happen in the school, and then afterwards focus solely on interviews and to put them in the gaps beetween break and lessons. This structure was slightly changed and we opted to remove the clock to signpost lesson times, as it became quite boring to watch a clock fast forwarding, so we removed this and we opted to put small text in the bottom left to say what lesson it was and...

In this week, we allocated the roles for all pre production work, we decided on what everyone should do, and we sent it to each others emails for them to upload, the pre production took a while, as the shooting script was the most time consuming, however we finished all the pre production work this week, then we started to allocate roles in to who would film the various different places in the school. due to us having a 6th form, we also needed to film the upper school as well as the lower secondary school. We decided to go floor by floor and capture students in classes whilst teaching is going on, showing the break and lunch times, and showing the various different lessons that was going on, we then decided to use a clock to signpost times in what lessons start and end to inform potential students that would want to come to our school in the future, and also inform the parents of those potential students, as to fit our target audience and collude with our client's expectations.

This week as a whole class, we decided to create a short 'documentary' for our school, by using our head teacher as a client, he gave us the necessary ideas and what he wanted as an client from us, it was more a negotiated brief, and the 'film' that we make was to be put up on the school website. after the discussion with the client, we allocated roles to each member of the group, such as pre production work, the filming, editing, conducting interviews with staff and students, setting out a plan, and planning out the structure that we would follow in our film. Also listening back to the footage that we had recorded in the negotiated brief, and would we could possibly implement, that was suggested by our client, and aim to achieve what was asked of us. After thorough planning, we decided on the structure and how we would create the 8-10 minutes long 'film' of our school, we created a group chat in order to keep into contact with each other outside of schools, a...

Brief Structures Contractual A contractual brief is essentially a contract between the client and the production company that they are going to for an advert. The brief outlines all the guidelines and parameters set by the client so that the production company can follow, they are legal documents and can have legal repercussions if not followed and there is a breach on both sides of the 'contract'. The advantages of a contractual brief is that they benefit both sides of the agreement, firstly there are guidelines and parameters for each side of the agreement to follow so there is a clear instruction and rules to be followed, which makes it more clear to understand and out into practice. There is also legal action that can be taken if there is a breach of contract, which will award the side that has made any losses. The production company however also benefits due to there being a clear list of things that the client wants, and so they can understand all the things re...
